American Oak PX Cask Whisky
A few years ago we were lucky enough to get our hands on two x 3 year old casks of whisky from a well known Northern Tasmanian Distillery. We jumped at the chance, but wanted to make it our own.
The casks were American Oak Bourbon Casks, classic bananas and banoffee. We wanted to give it some extra time in cask in order to get the best out of the final whisky and to give it our classic Derwent Distillery influence.
We decided that the character profile of these casks would be transformed by moving the whisky into an existing 110L PX Cask, which already contained matured Derwent Distilling Co PX Single Malt Whisky.
What we have achieved is a spectacular blended malt of two single malt whiskies, married together to maximise each of their flavour profiles. To create one completely unique whisky, which has never been seen before.
